Our latest adventures took us to the most incredible places. The whole experience and getting to know the places and people living in them was nothing less than a dream. The two weeks felt like a movie and an escape from reality.
Join us on our journey as we share the whole experience- hopefully you get some tips along the way. We will leave pointers and recommendations at the bottom. Do reach out and message us if you have any questions.
We always thought our honeymoon would be in Europe. Of course COVID changed things and we had a local honeymoon which was just as beautiful but in a different way. This year we were determined to explore at least a few parts of Europe. We knew we could only go away for a limited amount of time which would coincide with school holidays so we decided we would focus on two countries. We had waited so long for this trip and there was so much excitement attached to it, however when it actually came to planning it, we were stuck with where we would start in Europe. We let the fares make the decision for us as we found Switzerland was relatively less expensive to fly to (although it is more expensive when you get there). We decided to visit Switzerland and Italy.
After we knew our countries, we started on our wish list, which slowly turned into our itinerary of the cities we would visit. In a Google Doc we then made a list of places we wanted to see within the cities. We looked at blogs, instagram accounts, and m
ore. We mapped out our itinerary based on locations and then booked our accommodation. We made a call very early on that we would stay in very simple places (affordable) which were at a convenient location - from the places we wanted to visit. It didn’t make sense to go picking fancy rooms as we would hardly spend time in them. After we sorted out our accommodation, we bought our Eurail pass and decided on travel times. All this pre-planning was a lot of fun and it meant when we reached our destinations we knew what we wanted to see and we could experience it all without worrying or wasting precious time. We would highly recommend having a really good plan before you visit Europe. We know it is good to be flexible and spend time wandering however it is important to have a plan whether it is rough or thorough.
